2 Easy Steps to add Blog posts to Pages in Blogger

Do you know that you can add your blog posts to your Page in Blogger?

Here are the easy steps to do it, assuming that you know to edit the Layout tab of your Blogger template.

1. Add the Gadget
Add the "Link List" gadget in the horizontal bar and click on "Edit"

2. Configure the Gadget
Give a "Title" for the List for your reference and the number of links/Pages to show in horizontal bar.

Select "Don't Sort" from the "Sorting" options, if you want the posts to be listed date wise.

Site Name:
Give a name to your Page. I have three Pages, namely Social Media Marketing. Virtual Assistant Recommendations and Virtual Assistant Services.

Site URL:
Click on the chosen label of any of your post. I have chosen the label "facebook" for the Page Social Media Marketing. Copy and paste the link from the browser in the "Site URL".

The url would look like this http://<Your blog address>/search/label/<label name>

So, when the visitors of my blog click on "Social Media Marketing" then they will be taken to the Page containing posts with "facebook" label.

Configure Link List

Click on "Save" to save the changes in the configuration.

Now your Pages with the posts that contain the label is ready. For a real time example, please click on the above Page links in the blue horizontal bar and check for yourself.

5 Easy Steps to add PDF file to your Fan Page

1. Search for the app "Scribd for Pages" from your personal account

2. Click on the button "Click here to Install"

3. Choose the Page from the drop down menu to which you want to add the application

4.You will find the app tab in your Fan Page. Clicking on the tab will open the Tab settings window.

5. Click on the orange colored button "Edit Tab Settings". Click on the "Add A New Document" to select your pdf file to add to your Fan Page. After finishing the upload, don't forget to click on "Save Changes".

You can also use this app to add word documents, excel spreadsheet etc. to your Fan Page. It takes a few minutes to see the added pdf document in the Tab.

Stop losing Likes on Facebook Fan Page

People hit on the "Like" button of a Fan Page to keep them updated about the activities of a Business or a  brand. There should be some compelling reasons for them to choose the "Unlike" option.

Here are some of the Dos and Don'ts to stop losing Fans.

1. Too many posts flood their news feed
Do - Facebook says Page post data remains available for 28 days after the publish date.And it also recommends to post at least once per week to keep people returning to your Page.

Don't - Stop posting frequently. The Market Research done by Lab42 shows that 47% of the Fans were annoyed with too many posts flooding their news feed from the same brand.

Every Page has a unique audience. If you want to find out the exact time, type of posts and the number of posts, that should be posted in your Fan Page, then I would suggest you to schedule the posts and then analyze the engagement metrics in the Page's Insights to get a clear idea.

2. Customers don't want to be contacted
Do - Customize your post by choosing the target audience. By doing so you will not bother those fans who are not interested in that particular product/ brand. Here is a screen shot of the target options that are available.

Don't - The market research shows that 36% of the Fans don't want to be contacted. Don't send posts to those who don't want to hear about a particular product or an event that doesn't suit their interests and needs.

3. They had a bad Experience with your brand
Do - Let your fans know that they can always choose the options to either receive or not receive your updates in their news feeds. They can choose from the options that appear when they hover their mouse on the "Like" Button of the Page.

Don't - Do not fail to educate your Fans about the options they can choose, if they don't want to get your updates, instead of actually "Unlike"ing the Page.

4. Concerned with Privacy:
The research shows 30% of the Fans are concerned about their Privacy. These Fans can actually hide their "Likes" from their timelines
Do- Educate them about choosing to hide the fan page like from their friends.

Quantity Vs Quality of Facebook "Like"s on Fan Page

Whenever my clients talk about increasing the number of Fans in their FB Page, the first question I ask them is whether your friends know your profession and respect you for it. One said,"Oh!No. Please don't involve my friends into this. I don't want to invite them to be my Fans in my Fan Page. I don't want to bother them with my business messages every time they open their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Please look for people who are in the same profession as mine and send them the request". This client is a realtor.

Another client said,"Oh yes! Of course they do. I have 300 friends in my FB friend's list and you can send an invite to all of them. Am sure they wouldn't mind to be my Fans." And this client is a photographer.

Another said,"Of course they know. My friends list comprises of all those who are in the same profession as mine as well as who are interested in my profession. So please send the invite to all of them as well as to  network marketers". This client is a network marketer and an author.

Another replied,"Not all my friends. But you got to read their comments that they made on my Business messages I have posted in my personal page and then send them the invite". This client is an Insurance Agent.

One of my Client Lis Mckinley, CEO of  "Let's Make Room" wanted me to help her with her email marketing efforts. While I was talking about my other Services, that I can provide her, I told her that am also specializing in Social Media Marketing. I explained her about the things that I can do to publicize her business online.

She said," I see so many small business people having thousands of Fans in their Business Page. Can I get so many Fans?". I told her that there are many ways to increase the Fan base,other than inviting your friends to "Like" your Page. That is, only if you are very concerned about getting JUST the numbers increased in the "Like" tab. Her immediate reaction was,"Not sure about this. On first glance it doesn't really appeal to me. I don't just want anyone to "like" my page. I want people who are genuinely interested in my business, service and content. It strikes me as too "spammy"".

She believes in giving quality service and getting "Like"d by her clients and others genuinely. She don't believe in getting "Like"s from people just for the heck of increasing the number of Fans.

That reminded me of Chris Street's words - Quantity can rarely be sustained into long-term, profitable social media engagement without first giving quality.

Help Available - Save Your Time

Alan Majer, a robotic enthusiast, is a client of mine for many many years. Most of my new clients ask me what kind of services that I could provide for their Businesses to grow. Some of them send me the information about their product/and or services and ask me how can I help them to build their Businesses. Some just send me a single-line email asking me to send the kind of work that I can do for them.

I do some research to find out the type of Business that they are into and what can be done to help them to build their Businesses. Sending them suggestions and ideas to spread the word about their Business will always make them to come back to you, whenever the need arises. This has always helped me to keep my clients intact. I also like to build a network among my clients. For instance, an Attorney might help an Insurance Agent to get new Clients and vice versa. And my clients love that.

How will an individual entrepreneur or a small business owner select a Virtual Assistant?
He or she would look for a VA who understand the functionalities of the Social Media Websites to build their network and publicize their products and/or services. One of my friend who is a real estate investor wanted me to help him build his Business online. I told him that I would invest more time on Facebook, Blog and the local real estate search directories to advertise about the apartments that he would invite people to invest in. Rather, he wanted me to concentrate on Twitter updates and buy ad spaces in the local popular websites, inspite of myself suggesting him to do that after his business start showing up in public searches. He learnt later, that he has wasted his money and time. An experienced VA, that specializes in Social Media Marketing, would always suggest a Client to choose the best ways to start publicizing their Business online.

It is always easy to explain the Services that you can provide, if you know about your clients' Businesses. The kind of assistance that I can give to an Insurance Agent differs from that of a Photographer. People tend to "Like" photographs in any Social Media Website. I should concentrate on Blog, Email marketing, Articles, Press Releases, Newsletters, Twitter, Facebook Fan Page, Events as well as other Social Media Websites for an Insurance Agent to get as much exposure as I could get for my Photographer client from just Facebook Marketing.

Social Media Marketing in Olympics

Olympic Games has always been seen as a way to get more consumers to buy their products by big companies and popular brands. Many big companies are trying to talk up their brands on Facebook, which, am sure, could lead to more purchases.

London Summer Olympic will start on July 27th and run until August 12,2012.

This is the first Olympic Games where Marketers are pinning their hopes on Social Media to create a brand awareness for their products. London Summer Olympics are just 100 days away. Advertisers are hoping to get consumers to chat about their promotions online which will do much of the advertising in raising their brand profiles.

People are spending more time on Social Media Websites. Facebook had 145 million users in 2008. In 2011, it was visited by 794 million people each month. 377minutes was spent by each person, which is more than 6 hours. Today online marketing is not just building websites, but building elaborate campaigns to create a buzz on Social Media Websites such as Twitter and Pinterest.

Samsung electronics launched it's US Olympic Genome Project called "How Olympic Are you?" in Facebook. Its a game that makes people to connect with Olympics by finding out the athletes from their town and the sports persons who like the same music and movies they do.

This campaign shows advertisements of mothers raising Olympic athelets. P&G ask its fans to write the most catchy "Thank You Mom" message and win a trip to London to watch the Olympic Games.It is also hoping to drive traffic to pages for their own brands like Tide detergent, Pampers diapers, Oil of Olay moisturizers, and Cover Girl cosmetics. P&G is hoping to build its 5million fan base to 50million in the next few months, which would be a lot quicker than the normal times.

Companies are finding out the ways to calculate the worth of each "like" or "share", that their campaigns have got from the people.15 to 20% of advertisement funds that are used to spend on TV commercials, by the big companies, for bigger events such like Olympics, are being spent on Digial Media for this London Summer Olympics 2012. Such is the impact of Social Media and Online Marketing.
